I have worked on the series about modernity for a while thinking that we should I finish this series. As I looked the world through the window of modernity, and created my works based on this frame, I have built one strange house, and tried to stay there only. If friends call me, I should go and have fun with them. I spent enough time on it. It¡¯s now time for a new work. 1. All existences embody flying dust. A new series visualizes people and emotions in the relationship of them. How should I visualize invisible emtions? As they are from people, should I express through people¡¯s face expression or gesture? No. I attempt to erase traces of people and place objects on them. Objects always embody a sense of people. There is no doubt that the cause-and-effect relationship of people¡¯s activities applies to objects. Various emotions including desire also apply to objects, and they are reflected. A new series shows a performance of objects. Objects stand for emotions and symbolize them. As a result, their complexity are simplified. Moreover, objects have chemistry beyond their physics. There are senses beyond what one can see and vibrations in relationships. Images linger and atmospheres captivate. Art has a power to reveal those invisible matters. How human feelings would be described¡¦ one¡¯s suppression, anger, sorrow, and a new line of emotions when they encounter others¡¯. Different desire and different understanding. Conflict and fight, and severance and scar from them. Feeling ardent in distance. They were in the past, they are in the present, and they will continue in the future; they are ordinary and fundamental parts of us. This series is about my very first answer for very old, so very difficult questions on life, death, love, and etc. It is a beginning. 2. One of the methodologies There is something that expresses a maximum difference with a minimum identity called the principle of common division. It sounds complicate, but it works as the main principle in my work. Various objects are diversely composed on the similar backgrounds such as a floor, table, and wall. Please carefully look at them and their change. Art tends to reduce or exaggerate like making not when it should be, or making more because it should be. In my photography, things and additional substances are completed by viewers¡¯ imagination. 3. About post-photography Photography had always recorded a moment and things at certain places in the past. Thus, this has been the universal acknowledgement of photography. However, digital photography betrays those two main elements of photography: specific time and place. Editing different time and place on one image or adding new effects on the existing information of specific time and place is not the attribute of the traditional photography. Various time and and space with additional effects at once lead an image to lose specific time and space, so a new image with them does not work as the original image anymore. Time beyond time and space beyond space have been already the attribute of painting. In this respect, photography becomes something that is designed. It is a reality translated by an artist, so it is not what it is. This change shows that photography also attempts to be free by playing with time and space like in painting. Photography is also difficult to go against the history of expression. It accumulates the known fact that a methodology of art follows the a methodology of its technique. Meanwhile, maybe it is just that post-photography chooses the digital technique because it is the easiest and fastest way to show difference. How deisgned reality replaces reality, how translated photography is more artistic, or how photography beyond time and space make a photographic achievement, it is not sure. In order to accept digital photography art, the only thing matter is the quality of each work. It is all about artists¡¯ ideas and creations. We need more time. However, we should remember. Betrayers are not welcomed. Their defenses will not be written. I should remember this first. 4. To finish More I do, more I feel it is useless. I also realize it is reckless. I mean, fine art is like that. I also find difficulty in this solitute process. However, it is also true that my heart flutters whenever I presents a new work. Latly, I like to thank people who helped me in the process. Artist's statement.
